THE PROCESS OF WRITING: going LOCAL! with Ken Hull
A little more than a year ago, Ken Hull came to NVWN as a fledgling writer seeking guidance. Now as a published author he has the opportunity to speak to the very same group that helped him. He will talk to us about the inspiration, the time, and the ins and outs of his process for writing this exciting book about culinary journeys in Central Pennsylvania.

OPEN FORUM - READ YOUR WORK
We have so many talented writers that we decided to give you more time to listen to each others' works. This is a time of sharing - not critiquing, so come with a five-minute excerpt of your writing to read, and be prepared for an evening filled with good literature.

ALL ABOUT WRITING GROUPS
Writing groups help writers stay motivated, connected and sharp. Representatives of writing groups in State College will give us a peek into their own groups and tell us what makes their groups work. This is a great time to join an ongoing writing group or form a new one of your own!

Background Information:
In April 1990, a group of local writers founded “The State College Area Writers’ Club.” The club was incorporated as a nonprofit group,  “The Nittany Valley Writers’ Network,” in June 1994. The original board of directors included Sherry Hogan (now Dudik), Sandra Hill, Millie Ragosta, Donna Miller, Gary Delafield, Trish Jensen, Katie Raiser, Jane Cervino and Beth Shirey. In January 2001 Schlow  Library offered to sponsor the NVWN to strengthen its outreach to the community.
