Opening Day - October 3, 2005

Schlow Memorial Library shut down Feb. 2, 2004 leaving its home at 100 East Beaver Avenue in order to move to a temporary location - 118 South Fraser Street - former home of the State College Borough municipal building. The new library will be built on Beaver and Allen on a larger piece of land. The Schlow Centre Region Library opened its doors on Oct. 3, 2005. The new library - more than twice the size of the original library - was a much anticipated project.

The library moved into the post office building in 1967.

Needing more space, an addition was built in 1986.

Library is located in its temporary quarters at 118 South Fraser Street.

The new library building was designed by Hayes Large Architects.
