Winners of the exhibition will be announced at the opening reception on July 1st from 7-8 pm. This event, sponsored by the Friends of Schlow Centre Region Library, will kick off Arts Festival month by celebrating all those who entered their work and our selected prize winners. The exhibition will extend into the community room and will run until the 31st.
The first annual juried exhibition is sheduled to run from July 1-31, 2010. All new and established artists, ages 16 and up who live within 25 miles of State College, PA. may submit up to two pieces for consideration; artists chosen to participate will be represented by one piece only.
Schlow Library's gallery is pleased to present the colorful series of works entitled "Origins" by Mr. Elijah Andrus. Mr. Andrus is an artist and art educator now residing in Malvern, PA. He currently teaches at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. His painting process has evolved from the plein air tradition into an autobiographical approach--translating and distilling his visual experience through digitally manipulated photographs, memory and intuition. The exhibit may be viewed from March 1st to March 27th.
- Artist William Daup's portraits of The Muses will be on display in the Gallery during the month of February. Rendered in oil on canvas, both popular culture icons and historical figures have inspired Mr. Daup to create haunting contrasts of light and shadow. Friends of Mr. Daup have arranged an opening reception for the 2nd of February, from 6-8 pm. This event is free and open to the public.more info
