1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners were announced during the opening reception on July 1st and an additional monetary prize was awarded to an up-and-coming student artist in recognition of their emerging talent.
What an exciting experience for the library staff and the Friends! We are looking forward to next year.
more infoThe library will be hosting The First Annual Juried Art Exhibition in the Betsy Rodgers Allen Gallery during the month of July. Winners of the exhibition will be announced at the opening reception on July 1st from 7-8 pm. This event, sponsored by the Friends of Schlow Centre Region Library, will kick off Arts Festival month by celebrating all those who entered their work and our selected prize winners. The exhibition will extend into the community room and will run until the 31st.
more infoThe first annual juried exhibition is sheduled to run from July 1-31, 2010. All new and established artists, ages 16 and up who live within 25 miles of State College, PA. may submit up to two pieces for consideration; artists chosen to participate will be represented by one piece only.

more infoThe Betsy Rodgers Allen Gallery is located on the first floor, just outside of the community room and features the work of new and established artists from the area. Because exhibits change monthly, there is always something new and local to enjoy.
more infoSchlow Library's gallery is pleased to present the colorful series of works entitled "Origins" by Mr. Elijah Andrus. Mr. Andrus is an artist and art educator now residing in Malvern, PA. He currently teaches at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. His painting process has evolved from the plein air tradition into an autobiographical approach--translating and distilling his visual experience through digitally manipulated photographs, memory and intuition. The exhibit may be viewed from March 1st to March 27th.
Artist William Daup's portraits of The Muses will be on display in the Gallery during the month of February. Rendered in oil on canvas, both popular culture icons and historical figures have inspired Mr. Daup to create haunting contrasts of light and shadow. Friends of Mr. Daup have arranged an opening reception for the 2nd of February, from 6-8 pm. This event is free and open to the public.more info
