It's an old-fashioned town craft show...upcycled!more info
The Underground Artisans Marketplace, the first "alternative" arts and craft show to surface in State College, is a unique arts and craft venue for local artisans to showcase their creative endeavors to the community. UAM was initiated to reconnect the mindful buyer with the modern handmaker and to bring awareness to the ideas of "buying local" and "going green."
Artisans from the Centre Region will be selling handmade clothing, jewelry, and stylish home decor; original artwork, pottery, upcycled and repurposed vintage clothing and wares, graphic design, vinyl records, DIY and more!
FREE ADMISSION! Proceeds from the exhibitor's fees will benefit Schlow Library.

Meet the Artisans
Born and raised in western Pennsylvania, John Sharkey traveled a great deal with his family. He believes that this travel was "Instrumental in developing [his] desire to record and interpret what [he] saw and experienced" and he "Came to realize that we can all look at the same scene but see entirely different things..." Mr. Sharkey works with traditional film and prints on fiber based papers "For a superior and permanent image."
Dr. David Werner's photography will be on display in the gallery throughout the month of September. An artist since youth and opthamologist by trade, Dr. Werner masterfully captures the essence of colorful India and shares the natural beauty of the African landscape. From bangels to sunsets, from wildebeests to giraffes, the sites and sounds of his travels are here for you to experience.
A selection of the pieces are available for sale through the State College Framing Company and Gallery on Rolling Ridge Drive.
