  • Juried Exhibition Submissions Guidelines


    The Betsy Rodgers Allen Gallery in Schlow Centre Region Library is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Juried Exhibition, July 1st through July 30th, 2013. All new and established artists, ages 16 and up, with a primary residence in Centre County, PA (or within 30 miles of State College), may submit up to two pieces for consideration; artists chosen to participate will be represented by one piece only.

  • Award Winning pieces from the 3rd Annual Juried Exhibition

    A big thank you to all the artists who contributed work to the 3rd Annual Juried Exhibition. You made it a wonderful success!

    1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners were announced during the opening reception on July 12th and an additional monetary prize was awarded to an up-and-coming student artist in recognition of their emerging talent.

    What an exciting experience for the library staff and the Friends! We are looking forward to next year.

  • 3rd Annual Juried Exhibition Now Open

    It's officially July and the Library's Annual Juried Exhibition is now open to the public. From July 2 to July 30th, come and cool off with more than 40 unique works by artists from all over the Centre Region. Don't miss this opportunity to get to know the work of our talented neighbors. We think they will inspire you to pursue your own creative outlets. After looking at the show, we recommend browsing the adult collection for more information on the artists' techniques.

  • Central PA Festival of the Arts

    KIDS DAY (July 11) AND CENTRAL PA FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

    Enjoy the Arts Fest activities! Plan to stop at Schlow Library for a break and relax in air conditioned comfort.

    The Festival of the Arts runs from July 11 to July 15th.  Check out their website here for more information.

  • Rain Forest-- Hand dyed cotton, machine stitched Sandi Garris

    A scuba diver and world traveler, fiber artist Sandi Garris imbues her colorful work with her passion for exotic cultures and natural patterns. Inspired by rich coral reefs and lush rain forests, Garris mixes red, yellow, and blue MX dyes to create hundreds of hues and shades to color the fabrics used in her organically graphic artwork.

  • Our Readers Garden is now open! The entrance is just past the CATA office, on Beaver. You will find a small, quiet spot to rest during the hectic Festival days, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two new benches are installed in memory of Peter Lang. This is the first time we have opened the garden to the public - enjoy! (No pets, please!)
