November's exhibit highlights exemplary work by The Nittany Valley Chapter of The Embroiderers Guild of America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of and education in the art of needlework. The guild welcomes new members whatever your skill level. Members will also be on hand in the Library between 12-2 P.M. the first three Wednesdays and Saturdays of November during which time they will present their artistry in action. more infoOctober is the perfect month for an exhibit of local artist Clay Anderson's extra-ordinary paintings. Reminiscent of the early 20th century Surrealist Movement in Italy, Mr. Anderson's work encorporates the realistic depiction of mundane objects and figures to create dream-like settings that the viewer will be sure to find inspirational.

more infoA retrospective on the works of M. Robert Des Marais will be featured in the gallery throughout the month of July. An associate professor at Pennsylvania State University, Des Marais was heavily influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright and was one of State College's most prolific architects. His design for the facade of the first Schlow Library on College Avenue will be among those prints on display.
more infoThe gallery is located on the first floor of the library next to the Community Room and the front entrance. The objective of our exhibits is to enrich the aesthetic environment of the library and the community and to promote works by local artists. Art is interpreted broadly to include paintings, sculpture, crafts, etc.
A gallery committee solicits and reviews applications from artists and oversees gallery operations. The committee meets periodically throughout the year to review applications.
