These story times will take place only when there is not a World Stories Alive program. In the Winter-Spring of 2013, Stories Alive will be presented on:
January 5, March 2, March 9, March 23, April 20, April 27, and all Saturdays in May.

The Children's Department staff will present a half-hour of stories, finger plays and a craft, or movies, or a special performance.

Schlow's lively storytimes are designed to introduce children to the Library and its materials. The hands-on format encourages engagement with others as well as interaction between parents and children in a group setting. An adult must accompany each child.
Join us this summer for storytimes on TUESDAYS:
JUNE 18 - 10:30AM
JULY 9 - 10:30AM
JULY 23 - 10:30AM
Space limited to 25 children per session. NO ADVANCE REGISTRATION NEEDED - just sign up at the Children's Desk on the day of the storytime. Drop-ins welcome!

Please join Penn State students from the College Assistance Migrant Program for Bilingual stories. No previous knowledge of Spanish is required.

The Polar Express leaves from Schlow Library on the second and third Saturday and Sunday in December. Families can hear the story read in the Children's Department and then ride the trolley through downtown to Santa's Workshop.REGISTRATION BEGINS NOVEMBER 21. CALL THE DEPARTMENT TO REGISTER @ (814) 235-7817.
Children will receive a small drawstring bag with a bell and a coin they can spend at Santa's Workshop at the PSU Theater. Photos with Santa also available at Santa's Workshop.
The last reading is at 3 PM on Saturdays, or 4:20 PM on Sundays.
If the Polar Express pre-registration sessions are full, please come to the library on the day of the event for walk-in registrations and we will register you for the next available session. We have reserved spots for walk-in registrations each day of the event; simply come to the library to sign up on the day you would like to ride the Polar Express!
