Free Developmental Screenings for Children Up to Age Five
Engaging picture books for preschoolers, exciting fiction for independent readers, and intriguing informational books. If you don't find it, ask for it!
Books and Babies Young Readers Choice Awards
The Children's Department has over 25 magazines ranging from art to science to history. Five of the magazines address parents needs to!
The Children's Department has music and songs, stories and games for young children, books-on-tape for elementary aged children and book and cassette kits for preschoolers.
Look for favorites like Magic Schoolbus, Reading Rainbow, Wishbone and Dr. Seuss as well as a large number of children's feature-length films in the Adult Department's video collection.
The Children's Department has computers for educational games as well as Book Catalog and Magazine Index computers. There is a Computer Lab just for children in the first floor Children’s Department. There is no Internet access at these computers. A child, accompanied by an adult, can use the Internet computers on the second floor.
