Framed Poetry II -- An Exhibit of Poetry and Visuals by Dr. Robert Lima, OIC

The award-winning poet, Robert Lima, has framed some of his published poems with photographs and other images conveying the themes of his works. In celebration with National Poetry Month, these eloquent visual pieces will be on display in the gallery from April 2nd to April 30th. A reception and book signing will occur on April 21st from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Stop in for coffee, snacks and a chance to talk to Dr. Lima about his work. Dr. Lima began writing as an undergraduate at Villanova University and was part of the New York City movement in the 1960's, reading at Greenwich Village and East Village venues. Influenced by classic poets, Ovid, Catullus, and Homer, Dr. Lima also draws inspiration from many British and Hispanic poets, including Wordsworth and Lorca, as well as T.S. Eliot and W.C. William. Each poem is visually represented by personally selected photographs or designs, which underscore the impact of each poem's message. 

His poems have been widely anthologized; his many books of poetry include The Pointing Bone (2008) and The Rites of Stone (2010). In 2011, colleagues published A Confluence of Words: Studies in Honor of Robert Lima.
