Austin studied art under the Colombian painter Libe de Zulategui. She generally works in the tradition of English water color painting, while incorporating elements from the rich landscape of her home country. By applying paint in transparent layers, she creates tantalizing environments with subtle impressions of light and shadow.A signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Austin has exhibited in numerous small group, solo and juried shows.
