And the book is...

The 2009 Centre County Reads book selection is:

Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi

Persepolis is an autobiographical graphic novel about the author’s experiences growing up in Iran during the Islamic revolution. We see through “Marji’s” eyes the changes that her liberal family faces as the country is taken over by a fundamentalist government. Iran is often in the news as a military threat, but we don’t hear as much about its history or the lives of its people. Persepolis gives a personal view into Iran during this time through its complex, relatable characters. We hope you enjoy reading it!
