For National Library Week, April 10-16, we are highlighting different resources that are available to you through Schlow with a scavenger hunt for information on our website. Send your answer to the daily question to refdesk@schlowlibrary.org to be entered into a prize drawing each day. At the end of the week all entrants will be entered into a prize drawing for a Nook eReader. Tuesday's question: What is the name of the Puerto Rican newspaper that you can access through NewsBank, our newspaper databaseA subscription to a (password protected) website full of information. ?   Having trouble finding the answer? Stop by the Adult Department ReferenceQuestions that you ask of library staff that require knowledge of the content of the collection or other resources such as those on the web. Sometimes you are referred to the answer, hence Reference. Reference can also refer to our reference materials that are often encyclopedic books that have many volumes and a concentrated number of facts and/or statistics. These materials usually have an overnight loan period so they are available in the library most of the time. Desk, call (814-235-7816) or chat with us online and we will help you get the answer to any of the questions.

Monday's question: What will be our First Thursday performance in May?  Answer: Dreams & Bones, acoustic trio. You can find this information from the scrolling Feature box on our home page, by clicking on the Adults tab at the top of the page, or looking at the Calendar for May. Schlow features an interesting program on the first Thursday of every month! In June the Tussey Mountain Moonshiners will perform. A great way to find out about all of the exciting events (for grown-ups) taking place at Schlow Library is to subscribe to the Adult Department Events email newsletter. Each month we'll send you information about all of the programming that we're planning.

We're also having a paper scavenger hunt in the Adult Department all week long. Pick up a paper entry form at the Reference Desk to participate.
