Play is children's hard work!  Just ask any preschooler.  Join Penn State researchers and practitioners from private and public school programs for a panel discussion exploring the benefits of a quality play-based preschool education. The important and lasting benefits of play-based prescool programs are discussed in this FREE event for parents of children ages 3-5.  The panel will examine and discuss the effects of play-based education on children's creativity, problem solving, and dexterity.  Featured panelists are:

                                  Dr. James Johnson, Professor In-Charge of Early Childhood Education at Penn State

                                  Lynn Chaplin, Director of the Montessori School of the Nittany Valley

                                  Kat Alden, Cooperative Playschool

                                  Wendy Whitesell, Director of the Bennett Family Child Care Center and consultant for Smart Start Centre County
