This summer Schlow Library will be hosting a brand new event during Arts Fest! BookFest PA will celebrate the art of bookwriting. You'll have the chance to meet local authors, hear them discuss their work, and get them to sign it for you if you choose. Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 10 and stay tuned to find out which authors we will be featuring.

We have added a new wizard to our Overdrive audiobook and ebookeBook, or electronic book, is a book that you "read" on your computer screen. Schlow highlights one book a month from our collection of eBooks available at NetLibrary which can be found by logging into your account. There are many different books available for your perusal. site to help you get started. This will determine what you want to do and what device you have and help you get the software you need to read or listen to our online materials. Click on the Download button above to get started today!

Lisa Scottoline is coming to BookFestPA

Lisa Scottoline will be at BookFestPA at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 16 at the State College Presbyterian Church. Listen to WPSU's radio interview with her. You can also listen to a BookMark review of her book, Think Twice. Click here to read her web-only interview with Town and Gown. Admission is free and no tickets are required. Ms. Scottoline will be part of An Afternoon of Mystery with Nancy Martin at 1:00 PM and Tamar Myers at 1:30 PM. All the authors will be at the BookFest tent at 2:45 PM to sign their books. Books will be available for sale at the tent.

BookFestPA - a great success!

BookFestPA was held on Saturday, July 16 and was a definite success. Over 2400 visitors walked through the BookFest tent to visit 24 local authors and purchase their books. Two hundred people attended the Afternoon of Mystery panel at the Presbyterian Church and smaller groups listened to the Young Adult panel at Schlow, Daryl Gregory and Paul Yeager at Hintz Alumni Center and children's author, Lindsay George. We all had a wonderful time, celebrating the wide variety of books represented. Thanks to all of you who particpated and attended. Click here for more information at bookfestpa.org.
