What's My Pin? Do I Need a New Card?

Having trouble checking on your account? Don't panic! You just need to come in and get a new library card and PIN number. If you don't know your PIN number, just call us and we'll be happy to help you!

We are turning a page on the history of libraries in Centre County by joining our catalog with that of the Centre County Library. Each library will remain its own entity, but we are now sharing resources across the county.

Every library card holder in Centre County will need to exchange their old card for a new federation card. This can be done very easily at the circulation desk as you enter the library.

What does this mean for you?

You can place holds on items from public libraries in Bellefonte, Centre Hall, Aaronsburg, Philipsburg, and, of course State College. In the past these items would need to be placed on Interlibrary Loan, which can take some time to process.
Items from the above locations will be delivered to the library you specify.
You can pay your fines at any public library location.
You can return your items to any public library in the county.
Our catalog is now expanded to include all items available here and at the Centre County Library locations.

Ride the Polar Express!

TAKE PART IN A SPECIAL MEMORY ... RIDE THE POLAR EXPRESS!

SATURDAYS, DECEMBER 11 & 18 11 AM - 3 PM

SUNDAYS, DECEMBER 12 & 19 2 PM - 4:20 PM

The Polar Express leaves from Schlow Library Saturdays and Sundays throughout December. Families can hear the story read in the Children's Department and receive tickets to ride the trolley.

Children will receive a small drawstring bag with a bell and a coin they can spend at Santa's Workshop at the PSU Theater. Photos with Santa also available at Santa's Workshop.

Last reading is at 3 PM on Saturdays, or 4:20 PM on Sundays. Call the Children's Department to register beginning November 22. We have reserved spots for walk-in registrations each day of the event. Simply come to the library to sign up on the day you would like to ride the Polar Express!

We have four different summer reading programs this year--one for every age group.

Register, record AND write reviews of what you read, right from your computer. If you do not have access to a computer at home, or are unsure how to proceed, the library has many computers, staff, and volunteers to assist--stop in and ask for a hand!

Each program has its own prizes to claim--click the "related content" links to the left to learn more about each.

Along with the reading and prizes, there are many associated events of all kind going on all summer. Take a look at our calendar, or check out the tabs at the top of the page for more information.

New Young Adult Ebooks and Audiobooks!!

Hey Teens! Is that book you wanted checked out? or Did you need to read that book for school? Maybe you can not make it downtown to the library? Here's a collection that you can access from your computer at home! Read or listen to some of the newest teen titles!

Check out the additions to the Young Adult digital library, which has ebooks and audiobooks. We have added a few graphic novels, some college prep, and a few others you might enjoy!

Snowed in? Curl up with a book! For grades 5-12, read at least 20 books and turn in the completed form to the ReferenceQuestions that you ask of library staff that require knowledge of the content of the collection or other resources such as those on the web. Sometimes you are referred to the answer, hence Reference. Reference can also refer to our reference materials that are often encyclopedic books that have many volumes and a concentrated number of facts and/or statistics. These materials usually have an overnight loan period so they are available in the library most of the time. Desk before April 1st, 2013 to win one Schlow Book Buck! (to use at the Schlow BookSale)
