08-08-08: A date that has been considered lucky in China and the opening day of the Summer Olympics in Beijing. If you're one of the many people unable to attend in person, we've got a little taste of China here at Schlow going on as part of our First Thursday Celebration. We're hosting a dance group who will perform traditional Chinese dances as well as sing some traditional Chinese folk songs on Thursday night, August 7th at 7:00 pm - Hmmm 08-07-08-07:00 pm -- lucky? Maybe! Easy to remember? Definitely! This free presentation is being sponsored by the Friends of Schlow Library - an amazing group of volunteers who help us to give you many of the wonderful programs that otherwise wouldn't be funded through our normal budget. So, if you see a Friend, thank them! If you aren't a Friend, become one! If you want to have a little taste of China - join us Thursday night!
