I have not blogged for a week or so, because I have had too much to read and I had to make a choice, By now, you probably know what I would choose. One nice thing about having a library due date is that I could tell my husband (over the weekend) that all these books were due and I had to read them by Monday. We have been married for 35 years so he knows when it is a lost cause.
One of the books I read that weekend was The Host by Stephenie Meyer. This is the author of the Twilight series. If you have a reading teen, you probably recognize the name. Anyway, The Host is her first book for adults. It is a story of an alien invasion with a few twists. It left me with a craving for Cheetos. If you read it, you'll know what I mean.
Trying to get back on my healthy living plan, I turned to an Oprah-recommended book, Quantum Wellness, by Kathy Freston. I like a lot of the ideas about mindfulness, exercise, creating a magical space for yourself. For her diet, she recommends becoming a vegan and I really don't think I can do that, even though I now am a 75% vegetarian. I think I would have to give up some reading time to make all my vegan food and I'm probably not willing to do that. I still think it is worth reading for all the other great suggestions and, if you are ready to try the vegan lifestyle, it has great ideas for that also.
