Little Bee by Chris Cleave is a tale of a precarious friendship between an illegal Nigerian refugee and a recent widow from suburban London. The story is told from the alternating and disparate perspectives of both women who must cope with the tragedy they experienced together on a beach in Nigeria. Little Bee was one of the best reviewed books of 2009.
