Schlow's Adult Summer Reading program encourages you to get in bed with some good books this summer. 

Registration will begin June 1st from Schlow's website. Log the books you read and you will be entered into weekly prize drawings.

The grand prize is a Kindle Fire eReader (subject to change if a cooler eReader is released!)

Other prizes include Schlow Library mugs, gift certificates from local restaurants, round trip tickets to a destination of your choice from Megabus and a night's stay plus breakfast at the Carnegie Inn!

We also have fun events planned all summer.

An outdoor concert [2] in Sidney Friedman Park featuring the folk bands Lac La Belle and Pairdown. Thursday, June 14 at 7 p.m. All ages are welcome!

Global Connections' World Sounds at Noon [3] program returns with international music performances, Thursdays at 12 p.m. beginning on May 31st.

In August, find out all about the latest exploration on the red planet at the Mars Rover Landing Party in the Downsbrough Community Room, August 15 at 6 p.m. Fascinating fun for the whole family! 

The BookFestPA [4] tent will once again appear in Schlow's parking lot on the Saturday of Arts Fest, July 14. You'll have the chance to meet, and get books signed, by local authors. Featured authors include:

Tawni O'Dell [5], author of the Oprah book club selection Back Roads.

Sara Shepard [6], author of the Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game series- the books that are the basis for the ABC Family TV shows.

Artie Bennett [7], children's book author of Poopendous and The Butt Book.

Lee Stout [8], Librarian Emeritus and former University Archivist at Penn State, author of A Matter of Simple Justice about the advancement of women in government during the Nixon administration.
