Important Notice for OverDrive Media Console App Users (Apple Devices Only)

Just a heads-up for our OverDrive Media Console App users:

OverDrive will be updating their OverDrive Media Console App to make it faster and fix a few bugs, which is great. However, once Apple product users download the update it will de-authorize your Adobe ID on the device and prompt you to authorize again. You will need to reenter your password when prompted. Let us know if you need any help with this! Click here is an explanation and instructions from OverDrive.

When the update shows up in the Updates section on the Apple Store, there is a notice explaining that you must do this. Once the update is downloaded, opening the app will bring up a prompt to re-authorize.

Now users of NOOK HD, NOOK HD+, NOOK Tablet and NOOK Color can borrow eBooks and audiobooks wirelessly using the OverDrive app. Just go to your app store and search for Overdrive and download & open the app. Click on the function key (depending on which nook you have) and choose Get Books. You can search for Schlow Library by zip code and the app will send you to the digital ebooks and audibooks. Find a book or an audiobook and check it out with your library card and download it.
return ebooks early?

All ebooks can be returned early when you are finished with them.

If you are using a Kindle format, you can go to your Amazon account, go to Manage My Kindle, and click on the Action button which will give you the early return option. That also gives you a delete option, if you wish to remove it from your account list completely (return it first).

If you are using a nook, you need to go through Adobe Digital Editions (on your computer) to return the book, click to left of the title and a dropdown menu will appear with the return early option.

If you are using a mobile device, you can holdWhen the item you want is checked out to someone else you may request that it be held for you when it is returned. Requests can be made for any item in our catalog including new releases and items on order. You will receive notification via e-mail (or telephone) when your hold is available for pick up. Your request will be honored in the order it is received. down on the title and when given delete options, there should be a return early feature there. It may be in different places on different devices.

If you are using a Sony Reader, go to Books, hold down on the title, and your options will appear.

If you are using something different or need additional help, please try the Help page or contact the ebook support.

Note: You do not have to manually return your ebooks. The license will automatically expire on the due date (even if the book remains on your device). There is no possibility of having an overdue book - don't worry!
