Seventy people attended the event, including the Friends board members, Library board members, Library staff, volunteers, Distinguished Friends, and Special Friends members. </p> <p> In 2008, 64 library volunteers provided 5,093 hours of service to Schlow Library, which is the equivalant of 2.4 full-time employees. Volunteers work in all areas of the library, shelving and shelf reading, checking in returned <a class="glossary-term" href="http://www.schlowlibrary.org/glossary/9#term105"><span>items</span></a><span class="hovertip">Books, audiovisual materials, periodicals.</span>, monitoring the computer lab, and assisting the staff.
