1405 S Atherton St., State College.

3rd Annual Juried Exhibition Now In Full Swing

It's officially July and the Library's Annual Juried Exhibition is now open to the public. From July 2 to July 30th, come and cool off with more than 40 unique works by artists from all over the Centre Region. Don't miss this opportunity to get to know the work of our talented neighbors. We think they will inspire you to pursue your own creative outlets. After looking at the show, we recommend browsing the adult collection for more information on the artists' techniques. Or, for the younger set, check out the children's department for some fun, introductory books on art movements throughout history.

Join us Thursday July 12, from 7-8 PM for the opening event when Bellefonte Art Museum director Patricia House will award prizes for Best Student Work, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the Friends of the Library, and the staff, we would like to congratulate the award winning artists of this year's Juried Exhibition:

1st place - Clay Anderson Yuko dreaming forms into art (acrylic, graphite, gesso and gold leaf)

2nd place - Linna Muschlitz Relic (Raku)

3rd place - Mark Klemick Laocoon (photograph)

Best student piece - Luciano Sormani Street theater (mixed media)

We believe public art instills in the community a sense of pride and ownership. The Centre Region is fortunate to have so many artists who are willing to share their work with the guests we will host during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. Many sincere thanks to you all. We are looking foward to 2012.
