Arc of Justice Watch Party & Conversation

7:00pm to 9:00pm

with the State College Community Land Trust

Arc of Justice traces the remarkable journey of the US's first community land trust, New Communities, Inc., and the struggle for racial justice and economic empowerment among African Americans in southwest Georgia. The film features leaders of the Civil Rights Movement, including Congressman John Lewis, and Charles & Shirley Sherrod. The struggle for political rights gave rise to a new strategy for securing the economic rights and economic independence of African Americans in the South.

Watch the program on Kanopy and then join us for a guided conversation hosted by the State College Community Land Trust about how the roots of the community land trust movement continue to bear fruit in this moment, and what work remains to secure access to safe, affordable housing for all in the Centre Region. Registration is required.
