People and the Environment

Schlow Library is excited to host The Penn State Ecology Grad Student Organization's Science Café for the entire Spring semester!

March's topic is People and the Environment with Christopher Hazel (Architecture) & Elly Engle (Rural Sociology)

Christopher will be talking about the history/theory/practice around landscapes and their relation to people/perception people have of the landscape and Elly does research about Central Appalachian community gardens and how people identify with and re-engaged with the land in former natural resource dependent areas.

The Science Café initiative began in 2014 to engage the broader community in discussions on ecological topics and to provide graduate students with an opportunity to broaden outreach and communication skills. This event is free and open to the public.
