  • Be between 5 and 12 years of age, have completed kindergarten, and be able to sit at the party without a parent.
    • Parents and younger siblings are welcome to remain at the restaurant, but will be asked to sit in a separate section due to the limited seating. Pizza will be provided only for the children who earned their spot.
       
  • Be registered for the Summer Reading program online.

The History of Batman with Collin Colsher a blogger, comic book historian, artist, teacher, and Penn State alumni, Colsher is the creator of The Real Batman Chronology Project. This website, dedicated to curating a complete chronological reading order for every Batman story, is a must-read. Colsher will share his deep knowledge of all things Batman.

Costume Contest Rules:

Register from 9:45am to 10:15am at the BookFest Pa Costume Contest Tent in the Schlow parking lot to receive your number. Any acceptable prop weapons will be checked. Please do not bring functional or realistic weapons.

  1. Remain in the Schlow Library parking lot with your number displayed so judges can see you.
  2. Meet at the costume tent at 10:40 where winners will be announced!

Costume Weapons Policy

For everyone’s comfort and safety, no functional or realistic weapons are allowed! Projectiles and weapons that are realistic enough to be mistaken as real are not permitted.  All costume weapons must be inspected when you register for the contest. You will be asked to leave your weapon elsewhere if it does not meet these standards.
