Description

We're celebrating table top role playing games all month long!

You’ve read the rule books. You’ve played the introductory adventures. And now you really want to try to create your own story, but that can be a daunting process. Fortunately, we’re surrounded by storytelling ideas and examples! This workshop will discuss ways we can use popular culture and popular media to help us develop our own story ideas.

Over the course of the workshop we’ll work together to build an outline for a simple adventure using the ideas and techniques of some of our favorite stories. Specific topics will include a basic framework for building adventures and ways to use our favorite influences to fill in the holes in our ideas. We’ll also talk a bit about the differences in storytelling between mediums and how that affects our adventure writing plans.

Events are free and open to the public thanks to the Centre TTRPG Coalition and 3 Dots Downtown.
