Do you dream of being surrounded by books? Have a few extra hours a week? Explore whether Schlow has a volunteer opportunity that is right for you!

  • Complete the attached application and return it to Diane Schmidt, Schlow's Volunteer Coordinator, for review.
  • Applicants must be at least 13 years old. All those under 18 must submit a parent/guardian consent form in addition to the application.
  • Volunteers 18 years of age and older must submit the required background checks. 
  • Individuals needing community service hours should inquire before applying.

Donate Materials

We welcome gently-used materials in excellent condition for addition to our collections, used book sale benefiting the Library, or donation to other non-profit organizations. Media should have no skips or scratches.

  • Books – published within the past 5 years
  • Magazines – published within the last year
  • Audiobooks on CD – published within the past 3 years
  • DVDs – issued within the past year
  • Music CDs – no limit
  • Text books – published within the past 3 years
  • Video games – no limit, any player device
  • Special collections will be judged on a case-by-case basis.

All donated items become the property of Schlow Centre Region Library.  

Due to our limited space, please take donations of more than two boxes to the AAUW book drop at 2100 E. College Avenue. Schlow benefits from their annual book sale.
