Title
An Evening with Brendan Slocumb
We are delighted to invite you to a virtual author visit for this year's Centre County Reads pick, The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb.
The Violin Conspiracy tells the story of Ray McMillian, a Black classical musician on the rise. Undeterred by the pressure and prejudice of the classical music world, he is sent on a desperate quest to recover his great-great-grandfather's heirloom violin when his heirloom Stradivarius is stolen on the eve of the most prestigious musical competition in the world.
Originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, Brendan Slocumb started playing the violin at the age of nine and majored in music at the University of North Carolina. In addition to performing in orchestras, he also works as a teacher in kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school music education. The Violin Conspiracy is his debut work as a novelist, followed by Symphony of Secrets. He is currently working on his third novel.
