Title
Needlework Club: Pollinator Yarn Garden Work Day
Come work on the Pollinator Yarn Garden in person! All skill levels welcome. Never knitted or crocheted before, no problem! This is a great opportunity to get started.
We need your help to create a yarn mural! The project, Pollinator Yarn Garden: Community Grows at Schlow, invites members of the community to help build a fiber pollinator garden which will be installed on the gates of the Readers Garden at Schlow Library.
We are looking for folks who can use yarn to make bees, butterflies, flowers, leaves, or really anything that would be at home in a pollinator garden. The colors are up to you but our only requests are that you:
- use acrylic yarn (great way to use up some acrylic in your stash)
- keep the size larger than a saucer but smaller than a dinner place
- make a sturdy object that will hold up to the elements
Here are some sample patterns to help you along but feel free to do whatever works best for you!
Drop off your completed items at the following locations by end of day on Friday, April 3, 2026.
- Downtown Improvement District Office - 127 S Fraser St (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)
- Schlow Centre Region Library - 211 S. Allen St (Monday to Wednesday 9 am to 8 pm, Thursday 12pm to 8pm, Friday 9am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 1-5pm)
If you’d like to work on the project with other fiber artists of varying skills, please join us on Monday, April 6, 2026. This is a great opportunity if you have any questions about the project. New and experienced fiber artists are welcome!
