The Schlow Library Foundation will hold their next Cheers to Art fundraiser at the Arena at Northland Bowl on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 6pm. The cost is $15 per painter and includes all of your supplies. To register email northlandbowl@northlandbowl.com. Registration is required!

Join Matt Maris from Local Historia for an evening of local history. James Munks was executed in Bellefonte by hanging in January of 1819 for the murder of Reuben Guild. This particular crime, and subsequent confession captured a sensational saga that not only drew many to his execution, but also many more to read and write about the fate of James Munks for years to come.
Feel the rhythm! Express yourself through group music-making. This workshop by Matt Price Drumming will focus on group drumming, rhythmic games, and social interaction.
Something sneaky’s afoot at the museum, and Detective Joe Flashlight is on the case! Help Joe and a crew of colorful characters explore art galleries and learn the secret of the old sock puppet. There’s more to this mystery than meets the eye in this creative conundrum for our puppet gumshoe!

Cryptids are the colorful creatures of our imagination. This summer, Schlow and Centre Region Parks and Recreation are working together to host a special scavenger hunt across the region’s parks. The self-guided search includes 10 different parks with hidden cryptids. When you find one of the creatures, visit Schlow’s Summer Reading website (reading.schlowlibrary.org) and enter the code found with each hidden cryptid. Teens and adults will receive prize entries for each one found.
From the mosaic floors of Pompeii to the photos used as pixels in larger 21st century images, humans have used small objects to create a picture for thousands of years. Try your hand at using seeds, beans, or paper to create your own mosaic.
Schlow staff will be on hand during with supplies and tools. Teens just need to bring their colorful imagination.
