Each month, we select a book to read and meet on the second Wednesday of the month to discuss our thoughts. 

November's selection is The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau by Kristin Harmel.

Local yoga instructor, Laxmi Lauzon, shares her expertise with the community. Stop by on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 6pm to unwind after a long week at work.  

This is a drop-in yoga series for everyone; all skill levels are welcome. Please plan to bring a yoga mat and whatever accessories you need for comfort (towel, blocks, etc.).

 

Registration for individual programs is requested, but not required.

Come to Schlow on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays (schedule permitting: any date changes will be noted on each event) to join people of all ages in these classic games of strategy and patience. This event is in partnership with Happy Valley Go Club, an official chapter of the AGA (American Go Association). 

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.

All skill levels are welcome!

Meetings will be held in the Downsbrough Community Room, unless otherwise noted.

Winter Riding 101 is a free class that offers tips and tricks to help you extend your cycling season for a few weeks in the fall or through the entire winter. Centre Region Planning will cover topics from gloves to gear and teach you how to stay warm, safe, and in good condition (both you and your bike) until spring returns.

PA CareerLink's mobile center, The Link, will visit Schlow Centre Region Library on the fourth Tuesday of the month. This career center on wheels, the first of its kind in Pennsylvania, will be parked outside Schlow.

Join us as we welcome Douglas Madenford, local expert on the Pennsylvania Dutch. He'll guide us on a journey through the cultural and culinary history of the Pennsylvania Dutch as we discuss their foodways and their stories. Shoo-Fly Pie, Sauerkraut, Scrapple, Schnitz un Gnepp, Seimaage, and much more will all be highlighted and discussed.
