Starting a business can be daunting. Expert advice can help guide you on your path to success. In this partnered event between Schlow Library and Central PA SCORE, attendees will learn the essentials of developing a business plan and then have the opportunity to meet with a business advisor, a banker, a lawyer, an accountant, and an insurance representative. At the end of the session, you'll walk away with a to-do list and the confidence to move forward.
Local experts include:
Matthew Bonchack, Account Executive. Matt has been with the Hartman Group since 2014. Before joining Hartman, Matt worked as an attorney in State College, Pennsylvania. Matt founded and maintained a solo legal practice in Centre County for 2 years after obtaining his Juris Doctorate from the Pennsylvania State Dickinson School of Law in University Park in the spring of 2012. While at Penn State Law, Matt worked with the Rural Economic Development Clinic to provide free legal services and assistance to a variety of business ventures and services in Central Pennsylvania. Prior to obtaining his J.D., Matt lived and worked in Washington, D.C. for 6 years and spent time working in the Department of Justice’s Office of Legislative Affairs, along with various other positions.
Robert Griffin, Business Advisor. Robert taught Business and Education courses at the following institutions: Frostburg State College - Frostburg MD, Alleghany Community College - Cumberland MD, Penn State University - University Park, PA, The University of the West Indies - Kingston, JA, and Saint Francis University - Loretto, PA.
Timothy Kishbach, Senior Vice President and Director of Commercial Lending for Jersey Shore State Bank. With over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, Tim is responsible for a commercial lending team that has generated a portfolio of over $840 million in the past five years.
Richard Lewis, Accountant. Richard has a demonstrated history of working in the manufacturing of consumer goods industry and is skilled in Contract Management, Payroll, Business Process Improvement, Financial Analysis, and Target Costing. His undergraduate studies are from Wharton Business School and Widener University with an MBA in accounting as well as an MBA in finance from Seton Hall University. Richard has been a SCORE mentor for six years now and is a strong believer in assisting the local business community.
Tom Schrack, Attorney Prior to joining McQuaide Blasko in 2008, Tom practiced law in Philadelphia and in Scranton. He received his law degree from Villanova Law School. The focus of his practice involves representing business and non-profit entities as general counsel, with an emphasis on operations and governance issues.
