Although snakes have a reputation as a scary reptile, this program seeks to teach children how friendly and helpful they really are! Students will learn about common snake species of Pennsylvania, including which are venomous and how to respect snakes in the wild. We will explore adaptations like snakes they move, hunt, eat, shed, and taste the air through a special organ in their mouths!

Come work on the Pollinator Yarn Garden in person! All skill levels welcome. Never knitted or crocheted before, no problem! This is a great opportunity to get started.

We need your help to create a yarn mural! The project, Pollinator Yarn Garden: Community Grows at Schlow, invites members of the community to help build a fiber pollinator garden which will be installed on the gates of the Readers Garden at Schlow Library.

We are looking for folks who can use yarn to make bees, butterflies, flowers, leaves, or really anything that would be at home in a pollinator garden. The colors are up to you but our only requests are that you:

Crow Talk is a moving story of hope, healing, and unexpected friendship set amidst the wild natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.\

Come to Schlow on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays (schedule permitting: any date changes will be noted on each event) to join people of all ages in these classic games of strategy and patience. This event is in partnership with Happy Valley Go Club, an official chapter of the AGA (American Go Association). 

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.

All skill levels are welcome!
