Join a Book Club in 2018!

Love to read? Love to talk with others about books? Make 2018 the year to join a book club!

Schlow Centre Region Library has three different book clubs that meet once a month, so it’s easy to find one that can fit with your schedule. It’s also free! Simply borrow a copy of the month’s featured book at the Adult Reference Desk (if you don’t own a copy yourself), read it, and return it at the meeting.

The Afternoon Book Club meets from 2 to 3 pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the library’s Sun Room and the Evening Book Club meets from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on the third Tuesday of each month also in Joyce’s Sun Room. If you don’t like to come downtown, the Centre Region Active Adult Center Book Club meets from 12:15 to 1:15 pm on the third Wednesday of each month at the Active Adult Center in the Nittany Mall.

The Evening Book Club will begin meeting in 2018 on January 16 when it will discuss The Women in the Castle by Jessica Shattuck. The Afternoon Book Club will meet January 24 and discuss The Leavers by Lisa Ko, who will be visiting the library on Monday, January 29! The Active Adult Center Book Club will meet January 17 and discuss The Whole Town’s Talking by Fannie Flagg.

Other books the clubs will be discussing this year include the 2018 Centre County Reads selection Your Heart Is A Muscle the Size of a Fist by Sunil Yapa, Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate, The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware, and Into the Water by Paula Hawkins.
