Schlow Library Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak

3/24/2020 UPDATE

  • Per the directions of Governor Wolf and the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Schlow Centre Region Library's closure has been extended through at least Monday, April 6.

Please visit this page and our social media outlets (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) often as we continue to post updates during this rapidly-evolving situation, and thank you for your patience as we determine the best course to continue providing library services while protecting the health of our visitors, volunteers and staff.

3/20/2020: ALL book drop locations both at our building and throughout the Centre Region closed starting Friday, March 20. Please do not leave items around the book drops as they will not be monitored. No late fees will be assessed and no items will be due until at least April 6. Our Library by Mail services are suspended until further notice.

3/16/2020: While Schlow Centre Region Library is closed to fight the coronavirus outbreak per the direction of the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, the Library’s WiFi can be accessed in the Library parking lot 24/7. Connection assistance may be available via email to refdesk@schlowlibrary.org, pending staff availability.

Spaces are limited, and for their own health and safety, we ask that visitors remain in their vehicles while using the WiFi and to not congregate with other visitors in the parking lot outside or inside of your vehicles.

3/14/2020: Our virtual library at schlowlibrary.org will remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout our closure for visitors to get temporary library cardsmanage their library accounts, and download digital materials including books, audiobooks, magazines and movies for all ages

3/12/2020: In order to alleviate some concerns for our patrons who may be unable to return library materials, no items borrowed from Schlow Centre Region Library or Centre County Library & Historical Museum locations will be due from March 16 through at least April 6 and no fines will accrue during that time period. For the latest information on canceled programs and suspended services, scroll down and visit centrecountylibrary.org/coronavirus

We will continue to communicate any further impacts to the public libraries in Centre County as a result of COVID-19. In the meantime, as a reminder, our Libraries have many digital services available to you for free, such as books, audiobooks, movies, and magazines at https://www.schlowlibrary.org/ebooks-and-more and https://www.centrecountylibrary.org/ebooks-digital-content

Thank you for your patience as we work through this developing situation.
