Not all apps are created equal - so how do you know which ones to choose?

We've researched, tested, and purchased so you don't have to! Children's Department staff have collected the best of the best early literacy apps for you and your child to play at the library. We are pleased to offer 2 iPads for use within the Children's Department. Each iPad contains a selection of fun apps that will help your child learn letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and more.

  • Recommended for children ages 2 - 6 and their grown-up
    • Adult supervision required
  • Available at the Children's Desk
    • A staff member will record your library card number or contact information
  • Not available for check-out
    • For use in the Children's Department only

Remember: no app can replace your lap!

Your child's technology time is best spent with you. The conversations you have - about the things you're seeing on the screen, what to do next in the game you're playing together, or how to use and care for the device in your hands - will make the experience so much more valuable for your child. For these reasons, we kindly ask that you stay with your child while the iPad is in your possession.
